Creating
a Left Handed Kitchen is easy thanks to the Internet and some basic
left handed facts. However, if you don't have the correct utensils,
such as a
knife, cooking can be a little bit dangerous. So sit back and
relax and I'll give you my version of Southpaw Kitchen 101
:)
Most appliances have all the buttons and dials on the right side and
there's not much we can do about that. While Left Handed Utensils are
not in abondance, you can find them at places like Cooking.comor .
The most useful Left
Handed Kitchen Tools that I have found
are
knives, can openers, peelers, corkscrews and spoons. If you can find
pouring devices, they are also very handy in the kitchen.
Most knives seem
to be symmetrical, but left handed knives come in handy when you are
cutting such things as bread. A right handed can opener is very awkward
to use for a
lefty, as well as a corkscrew and peeler. My friends at anything
left-handed produced an excellent youtube video on Left Handed Kitchen
Utensils which describes their usefulness for us lefties.
