If you are looking for educational assistance for lefties on the web, read this first. Everyone and everything has an aid for higher education named after them so of course there has to be several for southpaws, right? Wrong.

I search constantly to find financial aid (i.e. scholarships, grants, etc.) for left handed students. One that is currently available for left handers is $1,000 offered by Juniata College in Huntington, Pennsylvania. If You want to check the school out go to www.juniata.edu.

There are some very good scholarship locator websites (which I use) that are available for not only left handed people but for anyone pursuing a higher education. These sites are free! I encourage you to sign up for all of these to increase your chances of getting one or many scholarships. (TIP: create a seperate email account (example: johndoe_scholarships@gmail.com) to keep scholarship offers organized in one place and out of your normal email account.)

In general, the "award" rules will be:

1. Essay Driven Contest for lefties

2. Top 5 Essays will be posted and voted on by my "Being Left Handed" guests (you)

3. Funded by my website, affiliates, possible grant money, and generous contributions

4. Awarded Periodically

I hope this will take off and become a nationally recognized award. Money for lefties to pursue their dreams is a great idea, don't you think?
