Are Few And Far Between
If you are looking for educational assistance for lefties on the web, read
this first. Everyone and everything has an aid for higher education named after them
so of course there has to be several for southpaws, right? Wrong.
I search constantly to find financial aid (i.e.
scholarships, grants, etc.) for left handed students. One that is
currently available for left handers is $1,000
offered by Juniata College in Huntington, Pennsylvania. If You
want to check the school out go to www.juniata.edu. As you search through the many available on line scholarship websites I ask you to please contact me with any financial aid possibilities so that I can pass it on to my loyal readers.
CONTEST BEGINS
Okay, here we go. Starting today (June 1, 2008) through September 1, 2008 the Left Handed Contest/Scholarship begins! Write an essay of no more than 300 words entitled, "Why I Like Being Left Handed".
One entry per person submitted to my email, beinglefthanded@gmail.com.
Sorry but no family or friends are eligible. Top 5 essays chosen by me
and a few other lefties will be posted on this website in September and
voted on by my website guests. Due to the bad economy my funding
sources have dried up so I'm putting up $100, winner take all, and
hopefully the prize amount will increase before the contest ends. How Can You Help?
Please shop my left handed store and ebay listing page. Even if you're
not looking for a left handed item, if you go through my website I get
a little commission on whatever you buy, which helps support this
website and my contests ( I have more planned.) Also, if there are any
ads posted on my website check them out if you're interested. Every
little bit helps. Good luck and let the writing begin!
Here is where the fun begins!
I have, in the works, a fund for left handers, which will
be available as soon as I tie down all the loose ends (legal stuff,
Uncle Sam, etc.).
In general, the "award" rules will be:

Handed" guests (you)

Funded by my website, affiliates, possible grant money,
and generous contributions

Awarded Annually
I hope this will take off and become a nationally recognized award
each year. Money for lefties to pursue their dreams is a great idea, don't
you think?
